Savannah heritage is defined in Mercer House of Savannah GA “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” fame. New York architect John S. Norris for General Hugh W. Mercer, great grandfather of Johnny Mercer, designed the Mercer House. Construction of the house began in 1860, was interrupted by the Civil War and was later completed, circa 1868, by the new owner, John Wilder. Photo used with permission of photographer Eric Whalen

“Easy Does It” Savannah Georgia Style … a Change of Scenery and Sensibilities
At Azalea Inn’s garden district mansion, a romantic Savannah hotel inn, after a very Savannah-style round of introductions and how-do-you-dos, proper southern hospitality in historic Savannah may take on a twist of New South sassiness. One Savannah traveler writes, “The world could learn a lot from the way Savannahians can make you feel welcome and loved.” An Azalea Inn visitor comments, “Thank you for the time you spent and the personal treatment you offered us [during our Savannah Georgia travels]….”  [ Photo Credit: Eric Whalen ]
