Hello wine lovers from around the country, and the world! Today we’re talking about where to find good red wine in Savannah.
Savannah is where Azalea Inn & Gardens Innkeeper Teresa Jacobson has settled down to make a home, both for herself and for those like you that want to visit Savannah. Do you know what that means? Well, she’s bringing her love of wines to you, the amazing guests at the most charming B&B in town.
That’s right, I’m bragging.
As an unofficial sommelier in the city and an unabashed admirer of the red wines that lend the robustness and complexity to the palate, Teresa’s guide to the good red wine in Savannah is the one to follow.
The thing is, when you stay at Azalea Inn & Gardens there is a large variety of wine available for purchase. Teresa has tasted them all over the years so they come with her bonafide personal stamp of approval. From as low as $10 to as high as $65 for those of you who want to experience a red wine oozing with character, we’ve got you covered at our Savannah bed and breakfast.
Why should YOU trust Teresa’s palate? Let me let you in on a little secret…
About 20 or so years ago Teresa lived in San Diego, California where Temeculah Valley Wine Country is only an hour away. Wine tastings ensured Teresa and friends hours of enjoyment but weren’t exactly affordable. So, when one of their favorite vineyards started announcing plans for an upcoming 4-course wine paired dinner, Teresa said: WE CAN DO THIS.
And do they did. 4 friends each took a course and selected 2 wines to match. They had no idea what the other courses were, so the tasting courses were surprisingly unpredictable yet altogether satisfying and absolutely delightful. You never knew what you were going to get, but the gettings were GOOD and a love for wine blossomed.
When the East Coast called her back to be near her son and daughter in law (who were thinking of going to SCAD), the woman named INNKEEPER OF THE YEAR loaded up a truck with cases and cases of the wines she loved. Pack your favorite outfit and start planning an amazing Savannah wine vacation. With Teresa as your guide, the results will be (as they have been before) surprisingly unpredictable yet altogether satisfying and absolutely delightful.
The good red wine in Savannah is waiting for you…and not just because Teresa effortlessly brings the charm of Temeculah Valley wine country to meet the unreserved Savannah hospitality that makes our city great!
