Byrd Cookie Company: A Savannah Favorite for 90 Years!

August 24, 2014 by Teresa Jacobson

Byrd Cookie CompanyWhat’s In A Cookie? A Taste So Sweet…

What’s better than a delicious cookie? For many, cookies mean more than just a sweet treat. Cookies are a reminder of afternoons in the kitchen at Grandma’s house, making her famous chocolate crinkles.

Cookies and a cold glass of milk are a cure-all for a bad day, and they keep Santa fueled on his busy night. They are the coveted snack high on the counter in the cookie jar, just out of reach, but nothing a kitchen chair couldn’t fix.Relive these memories, and create many more at Byrd Cookie Company: A Savannah Favorite for 90 Years!

Byrd’s Famous Cookies

There’s nothing like a yummy cookie, especially when they bring back such sweet memories.  Byrd Cookie Company, here in Savannah, Georgia, knows exactly how to create a memory with their scrumptious variety of cookies in their special Savannah scenery tins.

Offering the classics, chocolate chip, butter, and oatmeal, to unique tastes, such as Key Lime Coolers, Peach Coolers, and Red Velvet you’ll have no trouble walking away with a delicious tin of Byrd’s Famous Cookies. You’ll be back for more!

 90 Years, a Savannah Favorite

Byrd Cookie Company is celebrating 90 years in business, and they are doing it in a big way! Opening numerous locations in Savannah and Pooler, this beloved local cookie company is opening stores all along the east coast, from New York to Georgia.

In 1924, Ben T. Byrd, Sr. began his cookie business, baking cookies in his bakery and delivering them to neighborhood markets in his Model T Ford. It wasn’t long before the cookies and Mr. Byrd became famous to locals and visitors.

Check out Byrd Cookie Company at any of its three Savannah locations. Visit the factory store on Waters Avenue and smell the cookies baking the minute you step out of your car. Get a bite to eat at B. Tillman’s Restaurant & Bar located right next door.

Walking around downtown? Then don’t forget to stop by the City Market location to taste some samples, or BT Byrd’s @ Drayton Tower for a quick snake, hand-crafted soda, coffee, and of course, cookies!
