Each year more than 40,000 people attend the eight day Savannah Film Festival. Channel your inner film buff and enjoy the cinematic creativity from SCAD film students and award-winning professionals! There will be over 90 premiere film screenings this year, providing ample opportunities to see amazing independent films.
You can find big names within many of the films that will be shown this year, and often, some of these actors, directors, and writers will be hosting Q&A sessions after screenings. Names have not been announced yet, but keep on the look out! Catch the screening of “The Homesman”, a film that tells the story of the harsh pioneer life, featuring Hilary Swank, Meryl Streep, James Spader, and Tommy Lee Jones. Or, watch the popular Benedict Cumberbatch in his intense performance as Alan Turning in “The Imitation Game.” Interested in something spooky? Well, the Savannah Film Festival will host a series call “After Dark.” This series includes thriller, supernatural, and horror genres, with screenings of “Creep”, Horns”, and “The Badabook.” Whatever genre you prefer, there are plenty of unique films this year at the festival, so don’t miss out!
