Tybee Island is Savannah’s own beach town. Although we’re on the coast, exploring the marshes and tanning in the white sands are two different stories.
We’ve got another exciting story for you today…Tybee Floatilla. We’re the B&B that makes sure our guests have all the insider info about our great city of Savannah.
Read on for details.
What Is Floatilla?
Floatilla is one of the funnest things you can do in the Savannah summer. It’s 3-4 hours of floating in the water with your friends! It’s Georgia at its finest.
What Is It Like to Do Tybee Floatilla as a Tourist in Savannah?
Push off the banks, being wary of the barnacles – and float your way down the river. After an hour and a half of relaxing you’ll hit Criminal Island (a sandbar in the middle of Chimney Creek) where you should be arrested for having so much fun. An hour or so later, you’ll arrive at the Crabshack, a haven of seafood – and thank goodness because you’ll be hungry after laughing with your friends, both old and new, for 3-4 hours. This is what summer vacation in Savannah is all about!
How Much Does Tybee Floatilla Cost?
It costs 30 bucks, but every single penny is donated to a deserving charity. The best part? The charity changes every time. We don’t think that there is really any way to quantify the price of river-like revelry in our very own oceans…but this is a steal.
When Can I Do Floatilla?
The Floatilla events kick off this year (2013) on Sunday, June 2 and last until September, so plan now for the best vacation EVER. For more information about Tybee Island Floatilla, visit the Tybee Island Floatilla website.
