December is off to a great start start with the kickoff of the soon to be famous Savannah Pajama Shop Hop (discount historic district shopping for the entire month). Our next favorite Holiday event occurring during the same time period is 2012 Savannah Holiday Tour of Homes & Inns featuring Azalea Inn & Gardens! If you haven’t had an opportunity to tour our Inn, or any inn for that matter, this is the perfect way to kick off the holidays in Savannah.
The event starts on Friday, December 7th with the City Market Holiday Open House. There will be loads of holiday decorations, Christmas carolers and you can even visit with Father Christmas! Don’t forget to stop in the shops and galleries while you are there to sample some holiday treats or even get some shopping done. This annual Open House is from 6pm-9pmand is free and open to the public.
On Saturday, December 8th is the homes portion of the Holiday Tour of Homes & Inns. There are 12 stunning historic homes featured on the Tour this year, each decorated for the holidays, broken up into an afternoon and evening tour each featuring 6 homes each. If you need some sustenance between tours there will be a Victorian Tea with other treats served by Savannah ladies dressed in Victorian era garb in another private residence not included in the tours.
On Sunday, December 9th the event wraps up with our favorite part, the Tour of Inns. This is a unique opportunity to visit some of Savannah’s most prestigious Historic Inns, including Azalea Inn & Gardens. These Inns, completely decorated for the holidays, will give you a glimpse into what true Southern hospitality is all about.
